Tea Consumption
More than half of American Adults (56%) regularly drink tea. The incidence of tea drinking is higher among women than it is among men (60% vs. 51% respectively).
In addition, regular tea consumption is higher in the South than in the Northeast (59% vs. 52%), and among adults 55-64 (62%) compared to 18-24 and 25-34 years olds (51% and 53% respectively). Iced tea (36%) and hot tea (35%) are equally popular. Within the iced tea segment black tea (25%) is more than twice as popular as iced green tea and iced herbal (10% and 12% respectively). In contrast, all three types of tea are equally consumed in the hot tea category.
